DC Detect
The DC Detect has the role to detect a DC component in audio signal and to act as loudspeaker protection.
A DC component in audio signal may have deadly effect on loudspeakers. In the case that signal with DC component appears longer than a critical period, the DC Detect will act and
it will turn on output transistor which may be used for loudspeaker protection relays.
PCB for the DC Detect is carefully routed with special attention to audio ground which is star like formation. This eliminates the possibility of having a ground loop.
The DC Detect is a non-profit project started at HiFi Forum and it was moved by the authors to this site for the sake of easier maintenance.
